Paris report – Day#3

We are our way to the airport- hopefully they – the French – wait until tomorrow to go out on strike. Our last day was just as good a the two previous. With 16000 steps and with a lot of help from the metro we manage to cover the both parts of Paris we already…

Paris report – Day #2

Today we went in the opposite direction – towards Champs-Élysées. The mission was the same. Find a good deal. If the findings were, I’m not the one to tell. But I understood that the PSG jersey was. Even-though it is last season’s model (and most possibly therefore it was a bargain). I feel unbelievable blessed…

Paris report – Day #1

I must say Fabian is somewhat modest when his uses the word “good” in his review of the day. At one time he was saying that his mind was spinning of the huge supply especially as it’s combined with a sale to up to 50%! We stated our day at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. From there…

We ❤️ Paris

Late yesterday evening, with the help of an ex football pro who played with Kevin De Bruyne in Genk we arrived to the wonderful hotel Belleval. Today we are excitingly scouting for all the bargains on our way to Mona Lisa.

Review Skiathos

It started with poor imagination. The Mr wanted to go abroad during his vacation. No discussion. I never have that need. Or possibly I never need to, as my husband always wins that race. I understand him though. Living in Sweden and having an early vacation in June – you never know what weather you’ll…

Mamma Mia

What a week we have had. The Mr and I who on Tuesday last week took a well deserved “post graduation”break and went to Skiathos, Greece for a week. I will tell you more in another post. But of my three trips to Greece, this was the best. Maybe it was the company, the food…

When in Rome

After almost 15 years we did it. A only grown-up vacation. 4 days and 4 nights we were away from the children. Together with dear friends we went to Rome to celebrate love. As couples we’ve been together for 25 years. Our friends have been married for 15 and the Mr and I celebrated our…

Just like that

Mr F broke his arm 1.5 hrs into the ski vacation in the Austrian alps. The Dock children and their skiing traditions… Never the less. The Mr and I discussed shortly if F should fly home by him self. And a couple of hours later they called. My loving parents. 80 years old, they come…

Long time no see

I know I have been awful at posting. Why? you might ask. I think I just needed to stop thinking and having viewpoints. BUT we have been been to the wonderful island of Lanzarote for a weeks vacation. I’m such as priviliged person.

Well, what do you say?

Woke up this morning remembering that I’d planned to sign in with my client during vacation, to do a check for a kick-off later in August. So I did. And guess what? It was fun. Working is fun (to a degree) too. Sometimes I forget that life is not black or white. It is not…

It’s not…

Five weeks of vacation is by the end of the day officially over, tomorrow it’s just a regular weekend. The Mr took two extra shifts (today and tomorrow), so from a family perspective vacation was over already at 5.30 am this morning. It’s not that I don’t like working, I kind of do and I’m…

Nothing

We are currently doing nothing. Except waking up early as F is at day camp for his soccer club (and we don’t dare to leave the wake-up to him self…). But apart from that we don’t do ANYTHING and I love it. A new acquaintance made me aware that this is a talent not everyone…

Vacay – trip 3

And the morning after F’s 11 birthday, off we went. The entire clan. Up to the northern part of Stockholm’s archipelago and the island Blidö. Where we finally got to experience the Mr’s childhood friend’s summer home (he’s been talking about it forever, that is how old they are). His childhood friend is also my…

Vacay – no 2

After returning from Österlen, but before celebrating F’s 11 birthday, I stoped by at home, re packed and went off to a short overnight trip with “the women”. A constellation of women where I feel very welcomed but also a little as the least sharpest tool in the shed. I know that this feeling is…

Old memories and cinnamon rolls

Looking at post on Facebook and realize that EVERYBODY are away on vaca. EVERYBODY. Except us. It might be that we just built a filfy expensive house and need to save some money. But parts of me HATE it. Me too want to go away. Never the less I sat down to look at some old…

Mini week-end

We went to Gothenburg on a mini week-end with a hotel stay and with our goal set on the amusement park Liseberg. For the first time I didn’t go on any rides. Last year’s encounter with the ride Helix, made me take the decision. Maybe for life. (I love rides for the ride, but my balance…

London baby

We, of a certain age, know the expression “London Baby”. The Dock family just returned from a longer week-end in this fab city. Love the Brittish. Their correctness and politness. Just love it. Love it. And the architecture! Could just walk around the city watching it. I will not suger-coat it. There was some moaning,…

Post vacation / pre-work analysis

Hmm… four weeks. After four weeks of absolute nothing and everything, it is time to get up and get dressed before 10 o’clock in the morning. It is clear that I love to be around my children and husband doing “nothing”. That nothing meaning to do whatever we feel like (and this summer we also…

A paradise on earth

I think there are as many paradises on God’s green earth as there are people. We visited one of our’s today – Hallands väderö. Visit Sweden in the summer (a good summer) and visit Hallands väderö. Crab fishing beats any computer game any day.

Vacation

Life hasn’t stopped, we are just on vacation and looking forward to two and half more weeks of it. Beach, soccer world-cup, swimming, head injuries, friends, wine, more friends, ice-cream, biking, sun, movies, books, playing cards, late mornings, parties, dancing, more wine, tennis, jellyfish (the stinging kind), wasps (also the stinging kind), bbq etc etc….

Last call for doing nothing

Tomorrow I will start working again, so today I need to sort out all the things I should have been doing during the Christmas break… Gonna be tough, I who am so skilled at doing nothing.

Excersice

After the half marathon in June last year, I have not moved much other from some intervals and shorter runs for a 10 k that never happened. To be fair I do virja yoga and walk some k’s every day with the dog, which shows that I am not totally lazy, but still. To ski…

364

364 days ago I was a all jittery as we where off to NYC in a day… our great trip. With so many memories that we love to return to. Like this one or this.

Suckers

He he, the small  (?) devil inside me is laughing real hard. Thinking about them poor bastards who, at 9.30 pm on this very Sunday, are having a hard anxiety attack as they are off to work tomorrow, after a somewhat long and fabulous vacation. I started working a month ago and is well past…

Vacation all over the place

It is clear that it is vacation all over the place. My last week starts today. For many reasons I have a hard time to see me return to that 8-5 day. Better start doing some thinking this 4:th week.

Late LATE mornings

One side (have not decided if it is positive or not) is that our mornings during our vacation have become very late. 09.30/10.00 is when we are all up and try to have some breakfast… Which leads to a late lunch etc etc. And really nothing absolutely NOTHING gets done. But I guess that is…

1st week of vacation – check

So, my first week of vacation have come to an end. We started strong with our wedding-/birthday-party. Mixed some days of absolutely nothing (and I mean nothing) with days like the beach day, with more days that we done absolutely nothing, with days like today when we went to the neighboring peninsula to do some…

Die happy

Part of my happiness is to be mindful and seize the day. No, it for sure doesn’t happen everyday, but quite often and I would say it is because I look for these moments. Today was (and the day is only half over) one of these days. The weather was great and we headed for…

Love and attention

I decided that my blog should get some more love and attention. Been a weak fall for blogging. But one can always change and make better, right? So to start a new header. My favourite pics from our US trip this fall. What a day (and trip) we had. Even we had to do our…

OK USA

So we did my dream vacation. I always wanted to go to Disney World as a kid and never came (not until I was 16 and it wasn’t really the same). So I decided that I one day would take my kids there. And I (no, not he Mr), if I ever was to marry,…

Windy Varberg

Today’s outing was Varberg. And what a windy day it was. Perfect for surfers. We saw a number of kite surfers hitting the waves. The destination for our execursion was Varberg fortress. We ran out of time for the vampire exhibition :(, but the Bockstens man and a dramatized tour of the fortress we did….

V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N.

Officially, vacation starts on Monday. But already now I have done most things needed on a vacation.   Sorting. Sorted all Sam’s old clothes to Fabian. Now Fabian have an updated wardrobe and does actually not need any more clothes. Relax. Went to the beach twice for more then 30 minutes (probably a world record for…
