Yes, the week has been extremely good, I guess it started already last Friday. Sam had his theoretical exam for his driver’s license. You must pass the theoretical one before the practical exam can done and the license is officially yours.
Last time, for his moped license, he had some issues. Absolutely not for being daft, just because he underestimated how hard it was and that in turn didn’t make him study enough. This time both the Mr and I wanted him to make it. And so he did, he passed, with flying colours on the first attempt. There are not much making me more happy than the success of my children. Sam was quite nervous too when going there. Not wanting to fail like last time. It’s bad enough to be born in the last days of the year, to need to wait even more for things, just because of yourself, is not fun.
So, already when we heard his voice, when he called us to pick him up, we heard he made it 😁. Oh, what a joy. Happy tears flooded in mummy’s eyes.
Yesterday the second and third good news came. This one is related to the image of this post.
Fabian has always been serious about his football. This is where he has his energy. As parents we support him to do his best and for him to take it as far as he can. He might end up as a professional player in the highest leagues, a professional player in the minor leagues, or an unprofessional one in lower ones. Where he ends up is not the issue, we just want to support him to take it as far as he both wants and can. This is especially important for the Mr, who at the age of 17 (?) was offered to join to one of the major clubs in the south of Sweden. He didn’t get any practical support in this from his parents (or if we rather phrase it: his parents didn’t have the possibility to support him), leading to a lost dream.
I was never that good at anything athletic, but my parents have always supported both me and my sister with the athletic or non athletic things we wanted to pursue.
Anyhow, in December Fabian was at one of the try-outs for the NIU (Nationell Idrotts Utbildning – nationally approved sports education), there are several. And yesterday the admission e-mail showed – he got accepted! And even if there are a number of them in Sweden, naturally not all get accepted.
And lastly, I got an offer to support in a new assignment. Not a long-term, but for the nearest future I will keep the assignment rate I want.
So all in all, another good week, we better celebrate this weekend.
