I think I have a small hunch to why, we in our household, have the Easter egg hunt on Maundy Thursday.

In Sweden kids dress up as Easter witches on Maundy Thursday and goes “trick or treating” (or just treating – meaning walking around the neighbourhood asking for money or candy) before leaving for Blåkulla. And I think that our kids did this once or twice, but later it led to me hiding Easter eggs filled with candy in our garden instead.

And the tradition is kept. Maundy Thursday we have our Easter egg hunt, This year Sam’s egg had a twist of what he considers tasty nowadays.

(Sorry about the weather, not as springy as the influencer world would like it to be.)
