So, back from one week of skiing in the “Swedish alps”, Idre Fjäll to be more exact.
First time out for us. Mr and I have been much more “kick-back-and-relax-on-the-beach-kind-of-vacationer’s”. But got to admit that this was fun.
Personally I went through all the stages. From Monday’s “Gee, why do I not do this more often – I rock on skis”. To Thursday’s “What the hell am I thinking, this is completely lethal”. I learnt that the boots must be very tight to your feet, that helmets can never be under estimated and that I do have a severe anxiety of heights (which can be a bad combination with lifts and steep slopes). But I am here and I am alive.
Sam LOVED it. On Monday he had never stood on skis before this and on Saturday he got his dad to take him to the red slopes. Fabian… well to his excuse I must admit he probably did not have the best skis so it became hard, too hard. And when it becomes too hard, Fabian crashes.
We went with 9 other friends. And it all went pretty smoothly. Mr and I came into one fight, the kids and us came into several (well, the other parents had their low’s as well, but sure my temper works against me). The kids worked well and so did the adults. If there were anyone that couldn’t cope it sure didn’t notice.
