Happy

Finally, I got them! And for sure in the very last second I would say.

For a long time, at least 2.5 years or so, I have been figuring out what we need for our small entrance (or appendix as Tobias choose to call it). The small entrance is directly connected to our kitchen and is, in fact, very small and of no use (according to my beloved partner). I on the other hand, I think it is great. Especially when you have been grocery shopping you do not need to walk half around the world to get inside.

However, I’ve decided  (yes, I. I am the only one in this family who has any interest in appendix decoration) to make a 180 degree change of the functionality of the space. And use it for not only clothes storing but also recycling. Smart and not butt ugly recyling.

But now to the happy reason. Naturally, the choice of furniture provider will be the home furnishing company IKEA.

I was in my “home” store last week, when I saw to my awe that the specific drawer solution that I had decided upon (app. 1 year ago), was “temporarily out of stock”. I had gotten suspicious already when preparing my visit to the store on the website (gee, the IKEA concept guys must love me doing it all in the “right way”) and saw that the drawer had “disappeared” from my shopping list, with out my intervention… Nevermind I didn’t do more investigation, since it do happen that stuff temporarily runs out of stock.

On last Tuesday I had the opportunity(?) to visit Älmhult (the birthplace of this fantastic home furnishing company) and I went into the store for a meatball lunch. When I entered the showroom I saw my chosen drawer (his name is ALEX) to a freakin fantastic price (almost 50% off). Let’s go for it I thought, even though my monthly budget said “Naa, don’t know if this is the best time for this purchase.”. Thank God that I have selective hearing.  I went to the counter and told the sales girl:

“Give me two of those ALEX!”
“Let’s see if we have two”, was her reply, “is it going out of range”.
“What! you will not sell them more?!?!?!?!?”

They had 2, it was their last two. It maybe was the last two in the entire world. And I got them! This little story taught me to NEVER EVER wait to purchase (or do) stuff that I want. Go get them, today!

Since the picture of this fantastic drawer is no longer available on the website, I will actually share the before and after result with you here after the weekend.  It will be an incitement to actually make the redecorating done this weekend.
