Yesterday it was time. And never has Kahlil Gibran’s On Children, been more suitable.
I don’t think I ever have hugged him as hard as I did at the airport yesterday. I don’t even remember telling him that I love him. On the other hand I have done so 7000 times before. But I told him to enjoy him self, have fun and be careful. He took his hand luggage and went off.
Today his new life starts in California as a college student majoring in “soccer” (no, not really, but I’m not going to think the academics will be his priority, even if I’m sure he will take it seriously).
So people out there, love every day you have with your small ones. One day they will be all grown up- seeking adventures elsewhere – just as they should.
Go Eagles!
