Entré chickenpox

On the holiest of all days, chickenpox entered the family. We grown-ups have had it but none of the boys. But in Sam's class I think every kid who haven't had it before got it this spring  and summer. An epidemic in other words.

Midsummer Eve's morning Tobias called me and there they were lots of spots. Our dinner guests had had it so the party was still on.  Some extra guest came as well, their daughter, one of Fabian's best friends, had gotten it as well so now we are waiting Fabian to get his. Maybe on Friday… as an extra birthday present.
Last week of vacation – have some painting to do so Fab's room gets ready for his birthday. Some furniture mounting will also be on the agenda. Then our house is starting to get in a decent shape again, good thing we have vacation so that gets done.

I remember when my eldest son got chicenpox. We headed off to swimming lessons and there was not a spot on his body. After an hour in a heated pool they magically appeared. He didn't get too ill with them but eleven days later my other son got them and he was very sick.

Magic! 😉 If Fabian doesn't get them this time, I don't think he ever will.

  3. Ah, the chicken pox. It hit our house when Patsy had arrived from Vietnam and I was very pregnant with Anna. The boys had it and Patsy got it. It was so horrible, walking the floor with a screaming baby as my belly was so large and I was very tired. After that experience, I decided to let Anna and Meg get the vaccination. Anything to miss going through that agony again! Patsy still has some scars from the chicken pox. I hope Fabian gets a light case, if he gets them at all!

Can't chicken pox and pregnancy be dangerous? or is it just during some parts of the pregnancy?

  5. When our three children came down with chickenpox they took turns – one every two weeks. We were itchy and sleepless for weeks!
