While sitting by myself in the candle light by our dining table, playing tranquil Swedish Christmas songs, the dog sleeps peacefully on the sofa and the boys in their beds (the Mr is off to work). I reflect over how I feel in this very moment.
Except for missing my dad (who loved Christmas) I feel nothing but peace of mind and gratitude.
Almost all Christmas preparations are done. Food is prepared (yesterday we our family tradition of making the meatballs – all four of us ❤️), the Christmas tree is more beautiful than ever and under it lays gifts which all family members with thumbs have wrapped.
I’m thinking of how blessed I am. We are all well (today) and everything else is irrelevant. Here and now I’m happy and that is all I can ask for. What the world looks like, I take a selfish stand to and ignore. I will try not to make it worse but the rest I leave to higher powers to sort out, and boy do they have a job to do. But today and tomorrow I will not bother my mind with it.
To those who celebrate I wish you a fantastic Christmas, and to all others have a great day. Remember that happiness lives within and when in doubt choose kindness.
