We need to clarify this. Once and for all.
I just read a “conversation” in social media, where one person was very critical. Someone answered that it probably would be more beneficial if the person shared his/her viewpoints with the group responsible, the person wrote : “For your information, we have freedom of speech in this country”.
The freedom of speech “only” regulates that you can speak your mind without the state, government or any authorities retaliate, censor, or legally sanction you.
You can not invoke “freedom of speech” for being an asshole. If I don’t like the way you talk to or behave towards me, I have the full right to end our relationship, ignore you for the rest of your life and likewise can a group exclude you from their community if you don’t follow what’s generally accepted (and that’s sometimes way worse than being put in jail).
To refer to the freedom of speech for being a dick in a community, is not relevant, it only proves you’re an ignorant fool.
