We are back

Back home after a fantastic weekend in our capital, Stockholm.

The whole week-end turned out more than fabulous (well, except the incident with the garage door then, but we will leave it as vague a memory). Thanks to a friend we stayed in a really, REALLY nice hotel, Elite Marina Tower. We visited some other friends (or just one of them since the other had to work. Apparently some people do that on Friday’s ;)).

Settled in the hotel (it took us a while since we are not entirely used to drive in that city…), we took the ferry down town to watch Sweden loose one of their qualifying games for the Euro championship at an Irish pub. I prepared myself for Saturday’s race with a beer or two. No, not serious I know, but I only come to the big city that often.

While the Mr got a full day’s (10 am to 3 pm) shopping (he could have continued some more but was both broke and tired of trying out clothes) on the Saturday, I went to get my start number and prepare mentally for the 10 k run. The weather was lovely really warm and sunny and could not be better.

My goal was to run the entire race (no steps of walking) and to beat my personal best of 1.08. If I did really good I should get down the time to around an hour. I met the two first goals. At first I misscalculated the time, to also fullfill also my third goal. Nevermind I am really pleased.

The evening was spent at a show called “Ljust och fräscht” (Light and fresh) with one of my generations most brilliant Swedish comedians. Who did a spot on portrait of my generations anxiety of not being as everybody else. Prior to the show we went to the best – BEST- restaurant I think I have ever been to (it might be the combination of my high of a well done race but I do not think so) Il Tempo at Högbergsgatan. The atmosphere, the service and the food, THE FOOOD! Exquisite!

I think the Mr and I decided right then and there (or was it only me?) to, when the kids are all grown-up and before getting our grand children,  move to a bigger city (doesn’t really matter which) and live in the city and enjoy all the thing one can IN a city, restaurants, art and shopping. Need to put that on my vision board.
