The opinion maker in me woke up as I browsed the online “news” this morning. Anthony Weiner, democrat, has apparently been captured with his pants down, literally. Or to be precise, he apparently captured himself with his pant down.

Why, why, why do all these men (please don’t argue, the men must outnumber the women by about 800%) do this?

I think I react to their sense of hubris and the ignorance/rationalized of not being caught (all get caught by doing this), more than the betrayal against their partner and family. That it is still worth the risk, of public and private humiliation and sometimes an end to a successfull career.

The ignorance, also plays a role in the betrayal part. I am confident that in most cases the “affair” doesn’t mean a thing. It is the sexual drive and the excitement of doing something not allowed (like shoplifting, I assume). But does it ever hit them and their actions do mean something for their partner? Why doesn’t this matter for them?

I guess the answer to the questions in this post also is;  that man kind is a rough, unpolished an uncultivated being. The manners learnt by parents are easily swept away when the archetypes gets going…

And just for the record, I have no personal experience of this (what I know), but maybe it is just the truth that has not caught up yet.
