I do not call my self as feminist. The only reason for that is that my view of feminists are women (yes, predominately women) with very left winged (nothing wrong, just not my cup of tea) viewpoints, wearing ugly clothes and eating very pale food like sprouts, cress and lentils. But foremost because by the fact the many of these radical feminists believe men are inferior creatures, that basically have very little right to live.
I love men. For many different reasons. I do not believe a whole group of humans can neither be superior or inferior due to their gender. People are superior or inferior because of their individuality. And less face it, people become superior or inferior first when you compare them. I do not like comparisons, unless it has to do with sporting events.
Anyway, in GENERAL there are differences between men and women. One is their ethics (maybe it has to do with a DNA code or a gene in the end, but it surfaces as ethics). One proof of this is starting of wars and killing people. More men than women have less problem with his. Please note I am saying that all men start wars, or that no women do.
But very few of our men and women get to start real wars where death is a common result. And let be thankful for that. But I claim to see this lack of ethics is very much present in our cooperate life as well.
Why are the managements so filled with men and men only (except in Norway that have forced by quotas the men to leave their seats in the board rooms to women)? Of course men choose men, because men play better with other men. But also since there are more competent men too choose from.
Before you become all hysterical with my choice of word, I want to clarify that emphasis in the last sentence above should be on more and not competent. And the really interesting question one has to ask oneself is why there are more competent men to choose from? Where are the compentent women? Why are they not available to choose from? And is it so, that due to the fact that the competent women is not there (sometimes) a less competent man is all there is to choose?
Back to ethics. I believe that the nature of today’s cooperate life demands that ethics have to suffer. Business is about making money, almost independent of the ethics. I believe that as this becomes more evident (the higher you climb), more women choose to leave, because their ethics are more important than the money involved. Men on the other hand are better at negotiating. They put a price on their how much lack of ethics they can take, and gets the job done.
Sure sustainability (one way to talk about cooperate ethics) is the talk of the town, but then often in an bigger scope of the company. I would like to see sustainability, in the micro management. Or is this what once was called leadership aka good management.
