I know you all been waiting and here are some (of the 404 I took, thank God for digital cameras) pictures from the mother of all cities – New York (like any one has missed that it was there I was going).
It was 17 (!) years ago since I was there last. That was also my first time so I was chaparoned around the city. Which more or less meant that I saw all the big sights – but bussed to and from them all. Therefore was my goal with this trip to “get to know” the city – and I sure did. I walked up and down and east to west (and dragged my poor colleague through it all). So I have seen it all, including Brooklyn – three times in two days.
As most of you already know the city also got to know me, or at least my wallet. But it was all worth it.
But New York was not all I saw. Our office is in (yeah, outside) Philadelphia (Conshohocken to be precize). The storm of all storms hit the US east coast and we chose to work from the hotel (“Of course, it is the Hyatt”) on Monday, but in the evening we challenged the weather and the icy streets and took a short walk to a FANTASTIC restaurant on Market street – Tangeringe. Delicious food (expensive food) and a atmosphere that have never experienced before! If you ever are in Philly you MUST go here.
Our US colleagues took us to Chestnut Hill, a town north of Philly. This town, my friends, is absolutely gorgeous. It is like someone took the scenery from any perfect small town movie and placing it in reality. Unfortunately I didn’t bring my camera and the not too many pictures to find on there web page. But if I ever gonna live in the US again, I must be a town like Chestnut Hill. here we got to eat at Cin Cin, the atmosphere was far from the Tangerine’s, but the food – YUMMY! I must say that the culinaric experiance of the US has certainly improved since my last time.
So, what is my summary of NYC? I lost the picture of a “mystery city”, but instead I found a real cool friend that I hope to see again (I hope it does not takes 17 years).
