Back home

Thursday night I arrived home tired and with a cold, but satisfied. Just as I said in one of my earlier blogs, I don't like being away from the family but meeting my colleagues, my bright, energetic and fun colleagues it is all worth it. The trips were very good from my perspective and hopefully for theirs as well.

We got to see Paris from Sein and Amsterdam from the canals. I have been to both in Paris and Amsterdam in business before. But you really get that "eye" for the city when you walk from the hotel to a resturant (because that is all you have time for). Not that I can say that I got it after being on a boat for one hour either, but I really gor a taste for going back to both cities.
Paris I must visit one spring with the love of my life. He suggested EuroDisney next spring. Not completely what I had in mind, but that will do. Amsterdam I can MOVE to. What a cosy city! However, it is lethal to be in due to the trams and bikers, but the atmosphere is laid back with out being lazy. The fact that you can have cats in a restaurant is a proof of this.
The one thing I disliked about France was the French people. And I don't mean them in general, but their service mindless. I am totally aware that it might feel scary to speak to person in a language which you are not very comfortable with. But to sit in a information booth at one of Paris' airports and not WANTING to answer the easiest questions – oh my good get a new job. Also the fact that everybody speaks french to you as EVERYBODY know french and when you two minutes later approach the same person and he/she still answers you in french (like the two minutes gave you a crash course in this beautiful language) is more than my blond head can understand.
Pictures, well, I forgot my camera (yes, I am a very serious photographer…).
